The temple is open from April/May to November, attracting thousands of devotees every year. The spiritual aura of the place is enhanced by the Alaknanda River that flows nearby. The Tapt Kund, a natural hot spring near the temple, is believed to have healing properties, and pilgrims take a dip here before entering the shrine.

The temple’s main deity is a 1-meter-tall black stone idol of Lord Vishnu, seated in a meditative pose. The journey to Badrinath is a spiritual adventure, with scenic routes passing through picturesque towns like Joshimath. The best time to visit Badrinath is between May and October, when the weather is pleasant, making it easier for pilgrims to access the temple.

About Kedarnath –

Kedarnath, located in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, is one of the most sacred temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and a significant part of the Char Dham Yatra. Perched at an altitude of 3,583 meters (11,755 feet), the Kedarnath Temple is surrounded by towering snow-clad peaks, including the majestic Kedarnath Mountain.

The temple is believed to have been built by the Pandavas and later renovated by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. Pilgrims undertake a 16 km trek from Gaurikund to reach this ancient temple, which is open from April/May to October/November. The Mandakini River, which flows alongside the temple, adds to the serenity and spiritual atmosphere of the place.

One of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, Kedarnath holds immense religious significance, and thousands of devotees visit the temple each year to seek blessings. The best time to visit is between May and October, avoiding the monsoon season.
